SUNRIMOON TT 28 STARSTREAM Helmet Review
A stylish aero helmet for under €100
When you think about aero helmets, you usually picture crazy expensive models. And yet, some brands are starting to break the rules. That’s exactly what Sunrimoon is doing with its TT 28 Starstream.
I tested it in the blue gradient version, and honestly… it definitely doesn’t go unnoticed.
A brand that goes all-in on style
Sunrimoon offers a pretty wide range of helmets, with one big strength that stands out immediately: the colorways. Here, it’s not just black, white, or grey. You get designs that really pop, with gradients and much bolder colors that feel way more original.
Price-wise, the brand is also well positioned. Most models sit between €45 and €85, except for their time trial helmets which go above €200. The TT 28 Starstream is priced at $99, which is around €85. Honestly, that’s a seriously aggressive price for an aero helmet.
Unboxing and first impressions
A really good surprise right from the moment it arrived. Delivery took around a week, so pretty fast. The helmet comes in a nice box and is well protected. Honestly, it feels premium and serious, not cheap at all.
When you first hold it, the helmet immediately inspires confidence. The finish is clean, and nothing feels hollow or fragile.
Size & fit
I went for a size L, which is listed for 57 to 61 cm. I have a pretty wide head and usually need at least a 60 cm size, and here it fits perfectly. It’s wide enough to stay comfortable, but still secure with a well-balanced fit. The adjustment system with the rear dial is simple and effective, and you can fine-tune everything in just a few seconds.
A slightly different buckle system
One original detail here is the fastening system. It uses a magnetic clip that you then have to rotate to lock it in place. Clipping it in is super easy and almost feels automatic. Unclipping it is a bit less intuitive at first, but once you get used to it, it becomes second nature. And most importantly, it doesn’t move at all, which is really reassuring in terms of safety.
Built-in technologies
The helmet features two main elements. First, an airflow system: air enters through front vents, moves through the inside of the helmet, and exits at the back. The result is efficient heat evacuation, keeping your head cooler. Second, it has an in-mold construction, meaning the inner foam is fused directly with the outer shell. This makes the helmet stronger, more durable, and better at absorbing impacts.
Weight
The TT 28 weighs between 300 and 320 grams depending on the size. That’s pretty much average for this type of helmet. For comparison, some higher-end models do come in lighter, but they also cost two to three times more. Here, the weight-to-price ratio still makes total sense.
Comfort
The helmet feels comfortable right from the first rides. You quickly forget you’re even wearing it, which is exactly what you want. It also comes with a small chin pad. Personally, I removed it right away, but it’s nice to have the option.
My overall verdict
Price : 4/5
Hard to beat for an aero helmet at this price point.
Design : 4.5/5
The colorways and overall look clearly make the difference.
Weight : 3.5/5
Solid for the price, but not on the level of premium references.
Comfort : 4.5/5
Very good overall, with no bad surprises.
Final verdict
If you’re looking for an aero helmet under €100 with a real standout look and solid overall performance, the TT 28 Starstream is definitely an option worth considering. It’s not the lightest on the market, and it’s not the most high-tech either, but for the price, it checks almost every box. And honestly… riding with a helmet that actually looks good matters too.
With the promo code applied, the TT 28 Airstream comes down to €75 instead of €86.
*Certification: The helmet is CE EN1078 certified, which means it meets European safety standards. However, unlike some major brands, Sunrimoon doesn’t offer well-known safety technologies like MIPS or widely published independent testing. This places it more as a strong everyday helmet rather than a true high-end reference in terms of safety.
