With the VeRun, iGPSPORT is launching its very first multisport GPS watch, and it's fair to say the brand isn't entering this market by chance. Known for years for its powerful, affordable bike computers, iGPSPORT has built a real reputation in the cycling world, notably through its presence in the professional peloton with partnerships like the one with Groupama-FDJ. The VeRun isn't just another lifestyle gadget, then — it's a sports watch aimed at cyclists and athletes who want to seriously track their performance without blowing their budget.
From the first time you put it on, the VeRun feels like a serious piece of kit. Its compact form factor and featherweight 32.5 g make it comfortable on the wrist, even during long rides or running sessions. The 1.32-inch AMOLED display is a genuine highlight, offering excellent readability in direct sunlight thanks to a claimed brightness of 1500 nits. The display is smooth, and the combination of touchscreen, button, and rotating crown makes navigation easy even when you're sweating or riding with gloves on.
One of the most interesting features for cyclists is ANT+ and Bluetooth compatibility, which makes it easy to connect external sensors such as a heart rate strap, cadence sensor, or speed sensor. iGPSPORT is also pushing its ecosystem approach through a device-pairing system that lets you use the watch alongside one of the brand's bike computers. For cyclists, this is clearly what sets the VeRun apart from a standard smartwatch — it's designed to work as part of a complete cycling setup.
On the positioning side, the VeRun relies on a comprehensive GPS system with dual-frequency technology and multi-constellation compatibility (GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, BeiDou, QZSS). On paper, that's exactly what you want from a cycling and running watch, especially in urban areas or forests where accuracy can quickly become an issue. Tracks are generally clean and accuracy holds up well, though some users note that GPS lock can sometimes be a bit slow to acquire, which can be frustrating when you want to start an activity quickly.
Battery life is another strong selling point. iGPSPORT claims up to 14 days of daily use, around 23 hours in dual-frequency GPS mode, and up to 34 hours in single-frequency GPS mode — putting this sports GPS watch well above average. In practical terms, that means you can ride and run several times a week without constantly worrying about battery, which is exactly what you'd expect from a watch focused on sport and training.
The watch isn't limited to cycling. It also offers advanced running features, including running form analysis covering cadence, stride length, ground contact time, left-right balance, and vertical oscillation. You'll also find useful tools like training load assessment, recovery tracking, and structured training modes. In total, iGPSPORT lists 22 sport modes, including cycling, running, pool swimming, strength training, and even jump rope.
Finally, the VeRun also includes practical everyday features such as music control, a flashlight mode, sleep tracking, alarms, and payment options depending on the market. This is clearly a modern multisport watch, but one built with a philosophy more focused on performance and training than on being just another connected smartwatch.
The announced price in China is 1199 RMB, roughly €150–170 depending on exchange rates and taxes, which positions it very aggressively against the current market. At that price, the iGPSPORT VeRun becomes a particularly compelling option for cyclists looking for a versatile solution capable of complementing — or even replacing — a bike computer for certain rides.
That said, this first generation isn't perfect. Some feedback points to an interface that could be more polished, occasionally rough translations in certain menus, and software integration that still has room for improvement depending on the platform used. Nothing deal-breaking, but these are exactly the kinds of details the brand will need to refine through future updates.
iGPSPORT VeRun: Strengths
Bright 1.32-inch AMOLED display (1500 nits)
Precise, comprehensive dual-frequency, multi-constellation GPS
ANT+ and Bluetooth compatibility for bike sensors
Solid battery life, up to 14 days of daily use
Very light and comfortable watch (32.5 g)
Advanced running analysis (stride, cadence, ground contact)
GPS track navigation and recording for outdoor sports
Priced around €200–225
Weaknesses to Know About
GPS lock can sometimes take a while depending on conditions
Translations and software interface still need polishing
iGPSPORT ecosystem is promising but not yet fully refined
Track-only navigation, no detailed mapping
Conclusion: An Ideal Watch to Complement a Cycling Setup
The iGPSPORT VeRun is a pleasant surprise for a first-generation watch. It offers solid specs, reassuring battery life, a modern GPS system, and above all, sensor compatibility that makes it genuinely relevant for cycling. For a cyclist already equipped with a bike computer, or for someone who wants a single device for both riding and running, the VeRun stands out as a coherent, modern sports watch at a very competitive price. If iGPSPORT keeps improving the app and interface through software updates, this watch could quickly become an obvious choice for a lot of cyclists.
