Cycplus AS2 Ultra Tiny E-Pump for Bike Review
The mini electric pump that’s a real game-changer
At Kadenz Cycling, we love testing gear that makes a real difference out on the trail. No gimmicks. No empty marketing. And this little powerhouse from Cycplus… it checks a lot of boxes.
Technical functionalities
The AS2 Ultra is a mini format, but a serious one.
Weight
Around 97 grams. You’ll barely notice it in your jersey pocket or saddle bag.
Dimensions
Ultra compact. It literally fits in the palm of your hand. Far from a floor pump or even a classic mini hand pump.
Maximum pressure
Up to around 100 PSI, which is 6.9 bar. Perfect for road cycling. More than enough for gravel or MTB.
Valve compatibility
Compatible with Presta and Schrader via the included adapter.
Important to check before heading out that you have the right valve head mounted or in your bag.
Charging
USB C charging.
Fast, simple, universal. Same as your phone or bike computer.
Battery life
In real use, you can expect around 3 full inflations per charge depending on your target pressure and tire volume.
I’ve inflated multiple road and MTB tires without any issue.
Battery safety
When the battery gets low, the pump switches to thermal and battery protection mode. It then works in short bursts of a few seconds at a time. Less comfortable, but it can clearly save your ride.
My thoughts after using it for several months
It was my very first electric breast pump.
And honestly… the difference is night and day.
Compared to a mini hand pump
It’s a whole new experience.
No more pumping like crazy on the side of the road. No more struggling to get the right pressure. Now, you just press, and it inflates. That’s it.
You get clean, consistent, effective pressure. Effortlessly.
Compared to a foot pump
Even between rides, it’s a handy solution.
Of course, a real floor pump is still the best option at home, but when it comes to quick and easy use, the Cycplus gets the job done just fine.
The noise
Yes, it’s louder than a traditional pump.
But let’s be honest. When is it actually a problem?
On the side of the road, mid-ride, it lasts what… 30 seconds? Honestly, not an issue.
The weight and size
This is where it gets interesting.
It’s so light and compact that it easily replaces a traditional pump in your pocket.
Less bulky. More efficient. Less hassle.
Flat tires, much less stressful
You almost stop worrying about punctures.
You know you’ll be able to inflate properly, reach the right pressure, and get back on the bike without killing your arms.
In the rain
Important point. It’s not waterproof.
So in heavy rain, avoid leaving it exposed in an open pocket.
In a small plastic pouch or a properly closed pocket, no problem.
CO2, hand pump or electric?
CO2 cartridges
Fast, yes. But single use. And sometimes less precise pressure.
Mini hand pump
Reliable, but physical. And often frustrating.
AS2 Ultra
Reusable, precise, compact, modern.
Clearly the solution that best fits modern cycling.
Verdict
I had heard a lot about this little pump.
And honestly, I’m not disappointed.
For me, it has become a real must-have.
It now comes with me on every ride, road or MTB.
More practical than a floor pump in many situations.
More reliable and more durable than CO2 cartridges.
Ultra compact. Ultra efficient.
The AS2 Ultra is fully approved by Kadenz Cycling. 🚴♂️⚡
If you’re still hesitating to switch to electric, this is clearly the kind of accessory that belongs to the future of cycling gear.
